GETTING MARRIED ON MOUNT HOOD
It’s easy to get discouraged by the permit process required for many Mount Hood trails. You want to elope or get married on Mount Hood but you’re told the permit is a no-go. Instead of getting frustrated and bailing on your plans, pivot! There are some great Mount Hood wedding venues available that take the guess work out of acquiring a photography permit.
Mount Hood Meadows is the perfect location for your Mount Hood wedding or elopement. With easy access to incredible views, you don’t have to tell a single soul you rode the chairlift up (and I’ll never tell). With tons of trails to pick from, you can hike back down the mountain, taking advantage of beautiful wildflowers, lush old growth forests, and of course, picturesque Mount Hood views.

PERMITS
Adament you want to elope privately out on the trails? Don’t despair, with some pre-planning, it IS possible. As of July 2022, I was told by a Ranger in charge of Special Use permits that a permit for the Mount Hood Wilderness area can take up to a year to process and you can expect to pay upwards of $1000 for it. If all else fails though, there are plenty of areas in and around Mount Hood that offer the same epic experience for way less paperwork!
