If you live locally to Corvallis or Albany, Oregon, then I’m sure you are already aware of the gorgeous Fitton Green Natural Area. Known for it’s fantastic hiking and biking, it offers incredible views of the Coast Range foothills.
Know what else it’s great for? Photos at sunrise or sunset. While Lauren and Phil were not taking engagement photos here, they were taking anniversary photos! The smooth paths made for easy walking in the pre-dawn light and can we talk about how perfectly Lauren’s dress matches the soft sunrise hues?
When I first arrived in Oregon for this particular session, Lauren was ready to play tour guide. Not knowing exactly what I wanted for these photos, she had a list of locations ready. Lucky for us, this was our first stop! Within 10 minutes I knew it would be the perfect location. I confirmed that thought by double checking when and where the sun would rise on their session’s date (using the best, most handy app in the entire world, Sun Seeker).
These anniversary photos were particularly special to me. Not because I was celebrating an anniversary but because Lauren is my little sister! Way back when I first started photography, I photographed her and Phil at another natural area, close to our home outside of Philadelphia. It was pretty entertaining to compare those photos with these recent ones, especially when we discovered I had unknowingly picked out the same exact shirt for Phil to wear, years apart! Check out the shirt (and a photo from that particular session) below:
But fast forward back to 2022 and their anniversary: Fitton Green is a perfect easy-to-access location for those wanting a natural backdrop for their engagement photos or lifestyle session!
