Chelsea and Nick were celebrating their first child and both being from California, decided a maternity session at Seal Rock Recreation Site in Seal Rock, Oregon was the way to go.

We met at sunset and enjoyed an incredible golden hour at one of Oregon’s many scenic beaches. And guess what, not a single heart was created over her belly.

Mount Hood Meadows is the perfect location for your Mount Hood elopement. With easy access to incredible views, you don’t have to tell a single soul you rode the chairlift up (and I’ll never tell). With tons of trails to pick from, you can hike back down the mountain, taking advantage of beautiful wildflowers, lush old growth forests, and of course, picturesque Mount Hood views.

The great thing about taking photos at Smith Rock is the myriad of options. Want great views without the work? Take photos at the upper landing! Want to explore the trails and Crooked River? Take a short walk down to the canyon. Want to add a little spice? Hit up some of the best rock climbing routes around. 

When planning for outdoor photos, flexibility is key. Even though Mount Hood would have provided the perfect back drop for their engagement photos, freezing rain and snow would have made travel nearly impossible that day. The weather southeast was warm, dry, and sunny so really, taking their engagement photos on the Tam-a-lau trail was a no brainer!
